"I'm kind of small. Do you have a medium?"
A lot can be said about Alberto Gonzales: He's an American success story. He's the son of immigrants. He's Hispanic. He's a good friend of the President. He's loyal. Unfortunately, NONE of those things qualify him to be the Attorney General of the United States.
His relationship to the President and his loyalty -- the quality that Dubya values above all others -- have gotten him where he is. Period.
Unfortunately, no matter how unqualified Bush's appointments are, we -- the American people -- have to live with the decisions they make. I won't even say good or bad because they are usually all bad.
So, we're stuck with a second rate lawyer as an Attorney General whose claim to fame before coming to Washington was getting George out of jury duty, which would have uncovered Georgie Boy's failure to disclose a prior DWI conviction.
Fast foward: George gets elected President -- not once but twice -- and little Alberto is doing the President's dirty work once again: carving up the Constitution, bit by bit.
What amazes me most about the economic, political, diplomatic and cultural havoc that this Administration has wreaked on America -- and the world -- is not the absence of conscience with which it is being done as much as the lack of foresight.
Does, for example, Albertito not realize that he will not be attorney general in three more years and that he will be forced to live with the consequences of his reckless assault on the Constitution and rape of civil liberties?
By now the majority of Americans know that President Bush simply goes about life with blinders on -- how else can you explained such egregious tunnel vision? -- but officials like Gonzales, Rice et al. will some day have to face -- suffer -- the consequences of their complicity with this Administration.

George, I have researched your web site and man have the demonic spirits from Hell have you captive. You support homosexuality, which is a abomination to God, you curse with no regard to Jesus and you put down Christians more than you put down sinners. There really is a problem with this picture. You call yourself a Christian and yet you act as though you are one of the heathens. The word says we are in this world but not of this world, this means we are to be different, more like Jesus! You are known by your fruits and your tree, my friend, seems to be bearing no fruit at all. Jesus came to the earth to set you free from the bondage of sin, anger, rebellion, past relationships, rejection, etc. Today he wants to set you free from all of the anger you have built up inside of you. This is the reason you write down such negative responses and articles about others. You can have freedom because Jesus has already suffered it for you. You can begin to see people as Jesus sees them, without sin and without spot or wrinkle. Doesn't this sound like a much better life? All it takes is you falling on your knees and crying out to him, he is waiting. Leticia and I will be praying that you find your way.
